Scouting

You are thinking, that's a nice job 'scouting'...euh yes it is, I agree.

So I look for places in KTM and surroundings, where you can eat, have a drink, or relax in a garden, be part of a ceremony, take part at the festivities, wich are always going on here in Nepal.

The influences of Hinduism and Buddhism together, makes it more interesting. Here in Nepal, and I think it is the only country, were there never have been conflicts in religion, I try to let people see, what it is like to believe in the life you choose and were you believe in.

Mixe this with silent, or a colourfull environment, you can have really a good feeling of this country.

Last night, when I was in Thamel for example, I found a rustic garden, loungy, good music, lights and smells of insence, good simple food. And you have to know that Thamel is very touristic and noisy....and when I feel a place, my first impression, the energy, then it's OK. I come back, make notes and remember it for my guests.

Even at Boudanath, I found a monastery, way back in the village, were you can attend a Bouddhistic ceremony, held each day at 5PM. With Tibetan music and mantra's chanting by young monks.
The long horn are impressive, and the smell of buttercup-light do the trick to carry you away in that mystic feeling that hurises in that temple.
